The Georgian National Ballet was the first professional state dance company in Georgia. Founded by Iliko Sukhishvili andNino Ramishvili in 1945, it was initially named as the Georgian State Dance Company. Thanks to this company the Georgian national dancing and music has become known and appreciated all around the world.
The show opens the curtain to the amazing Georgian culture and history that are full of sadness, joy, tragedy and passion. This spectacular show combines beautiful swan-like female dances, masculine and dangerous male acts as well as traditional Georgian music, played live by one of the most prominent national bands. This performance is truly unique as it remains to be the only one where the male artists dance on their knees and toe tips with the use of swards and other various types of weaponry without any protection!
