At first glance, the young soul star Sam Smith looks rather inconspicuous, but as soon as he steps up to the microphone and sings unbridled life and deepest passion begin to flow from every single pore of his body. After numerous successful collaborations with famous artists Sam Smith released his EP "Nirvana" 2013 filled with his own material. On May 23, 2014 he released his debut album "In The Lonely Hour", which topped the charts worldwide.
After that, he harvested the first fruits of his labor: He won the Critics' Choice Award on BRITs, the highest award that a British newcomer can achieve. Shortly thereafter, the BBC named him the most promising artist in 2014. In 2015, the young star received four Grammys in the categories: Record of the Year, Best Song of the Year, Best Pop Album of the Year and Best New Artist.
