ca Lukas (born Aleksandar Vuksanović on November 3, 1968, in Belgrade, Serbia) is a Serbian pop-folk singer and musician, widely regarded as one of the most prominent and influential artists in the Balkan music scene.
He began his career in the early 1990s, performing with Serbian rock singer Viktorija and her band. His stage name, “Aca Lukas,” comes from the Belgrade nightclub “Lukas,” where he performed during his early years. Lukas released his debut album Ponos i laž (Pride and Lie) in 1994, followed by Pesma od bola (Song Out of Pain, 1996) and Lična karta (ID, 1998), featuring some of his most iconic hits. The title track “Lična karta,” a Serbian version of Anna Vissi’s “Trauma,” became his signature song.
In the 2000s, he signed with Grand Production, releasing a series of successful albums including Rođendan (Birthday, 2000), Nešto protiv bolova (Something for the Pain, 2002), and Istina je da lažem (The Truth Is That I Am Lying, 2003). After a brief hiatus, Lukas made a strong comeback with Jagnje moje (My Lamb, 2006) and won the Grand Festival in 2008 with “Upali svetlo.”
He performed for the first time at Belgrade Arena in 2010 and reached a career milestone in 2013 with a massive concert at Marakana Stadium, attended by over 50,000 fans. Over the years, Lukas has collaborated with leading regional artists such as Ceca Ražnatović, Ivana Selakov, Maya Berović, Milica Pavlović, Mile Kitić, and Saša Matić. Between 2013 and 2018, he served as a judge on the popular TV talent show “Zvezde Granda.”
In 2021, Lukas released his tenth studio album, Uspavanka za ozbiljne bebe (Lullaby for Serious Babies), featuring duets with Milica Pavlović and Maya Berović, and published his autobiography To sam ja (That Is Me). In 2022, he competed in the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest – Pesma za Evroviziju '22, finishing fifth with the song Oskar.
Known for his powerful vocals, emotional performances, and charismatic stage presence, Aca Lukas remains one of the defining figures of contemporary Serbian pop-folk music, bridging traditional Balkan sounds with modern pop energy.
