Damir Urban

Damir Urban is a Croatian singer, text writer and guitarist.
He held his first performance in Rijeka as a sixteen-year old together with a band called “La Bellona”.

During 1986, the band “Laufer” is created in which he is the lyrical author, musical co-author and lead vocalist. Laufer’s first album “The best of…”, with hits like “Budi moja voda”, “Svijet za nas”, “Lopov Jack” and others, came out in 1993.

In 1996, he gave out his first solo album “Otrovna kiša” that he recorded aided by his friends under the name “4”. The album was nominated for the “Porin” award in three different categories. Two years later, a second album came out, “Žena dijete”, for which he won the Porin award as the best rock album and best alternative music album. Except Porin, the album won several “Black cat” awards and was deemed one of the ten albums of the last ten years. In October and November 2004, in the studio G.I.S. in Rijeka, he recorded his third album – “Retro”.

In May 2011, he recorded the music video for the song “Black Tattoo” where his partner was the cellist Stepan Hauser. The music video served as an announcement to the future albums of the collaboration Urban – Hauser.
