Bucharest Early Music Festival

Celebrating its 20th edition this year, the Bucharest Early Music Festival is one of the most important classical music events in Romania and in Southeastern Europe. The festival embraces the mission of promoting early music performed in an authentic manner, as well as organizing educational, artistic, and heritage projects connected to its core vocation. Since 2015, the Bucharest Early Music Festival has been a proud member of the prestigious European Early Music Network (REMA), which brings together 132 members from 23 European countries. Following this year’s main edition, the organizers present Naturalia, a special concert series conceived as a winter edition of the festival. It offers music lovers a unique theme — the beauty of nature as it resonates through the musical scores of the Baroque era, a source of inspiration for both musicians and audiences alike. European Baroque music represents a moment of glory for the “sounds of nature”, as exemplified by Antonio Vivaldi’s famous concertos such as Il Gardellino, La Tempesta di Mare, La Notte, or The Four Seasons. Alongside Vivaldi, many other composers found inspiration in the natural world, creating pages of rare and timeless beauty.
