Bereits als 16-Jähriger hat der Niederländer Robbert van de Corput davon geträumt, ein großer DJ zu werden. Unter dem Namen Hardwell hat er dann tatsächlich seine ganz eigene Erfolgsgeschichte geschrieben: 2008 gelang ihm im Alter von 20 Jahren mit einem Remix von "Toys are Nuts" der Durchbruch als House-, Electro-, und Progressive-Produzent, seine kraftvollen Tracks kletterten in Folge in die niederländischen und internationalen Charts. Seit 2011 veröffentlicht er seine Tracks bei Kontor Records und gestaltet seine eigene Radiosendung "Hardwell on Air". Nach etlichen Singles, Mixes und Compilations veröffentlichte Hardwell 2014 sein erstes Studioalbum "I Am Hardwell", das ebenfalls internationale Erfolge feierte.
