Miro Žbirka is a Slovak singer and songwriter. Slovak father and English mother supported him in music from early age. His musical idol is Beatles.
Meky´s career was launched with a group Modus, together with Janko Lehotský and Marika Gombitová. In 1977 they won Zlatá Bratislavská Lýra for the song Úsmev. Later he worked in Limit, and since 1980 he focused on solo career.
Thanks to the English roots Meky has succeeded abroad as well and some of his albums were sung in English.
In 1982 he won Zlatý Slávik as a first Slovak singer in Czechoslovakia. In addition, he has several awards to his credit from Bratislavská Lýra, Zlatý Slávik, OTO and Aurel. In 2007 he became a member of Aurel poll in the Hall of Fame. In addition to the concerts Meky also played in the musical Neberte nám princeznú.
