WORLD RUGBY NATIONS CUP

The Romanian Rugby Federation is the governing body for rugby union in Romania, responsible for organising, developing and administering the sport at national level. The federation oversees domestic competitions, junior and senior programmes, and Romania’s representation within international rugby structures.

The federation was founded during the early period of Romanian rugby, shortly after the sport was introduced in the country. Throughout its history, it has played a central role in developing national teams, organising domestic championships and maintaining Romania’s rugby tradition, one of the oldest and most significant in Eastern Europe.

The Romanian Rugby Federation is affiliated with World Rugby and Rugby Europe, taking part in the international system of competitions, regulations and sporting development. Romania’s men’s national rugby union team, known as „The Oaks”, is one of the main symbols of the federation’s activity and has competed in major events such as the „Rugby World Cup”.

The federation’s work includes the development of rugby union, rugby sevens, club competitions, youth programmes, and the training of coaches and referees. Through its administrative and sporting role, the Romanian Rugby Federation contributes to preserving Romania’s rugby heritage and promoting the values associated with the game: discipline, respect, teamwork and fair play.
