Teddy Swims - The UGLY Tour

Jaten Collin Dimsdale, known professionally as Teddy Swims, is an American singer and songwriter born on September 25, 1992, in Conyers, Georgia. His sound blends R&B, soul, hip-hop, and contemporary pop, drawing on a wide range of influences absorbed from an early age. Introduced to soul artists such as Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and Al Green by his father, and shaped by high-school musical theater, he developed his vocal ability partly by studying performances online. His stage surname derives from an acronym for "Someone Who Isn't Me Sometimes."

Before his solo breakthrough, he sang across a variety of Atlanta-area bands spanning alternative rock, post-hardcore, soul, and hair metal, including groups such as WildHeart and Eris. In 2019 he began building an audience by posting genre-spanning cover performances on YouTube; his rendition of Shania Twain's "You're Still the One" became one of his most-watched clips. That momentum led to a deal with Warner Records at the end of 2019.

His major-label debut single "Picky" followed in early 2020, alongside a steady run of singles and covers. He released the EP "Unlearning" in 2021, then "Tough Love" in early 2022, which became his first entry on the Billboard 200. A third EP, "Sleep Is Exhausting," arrived later that year. During this period he also recorded collaborations with artists including Meghan Trainor on "Bad for Me."

His commercial breakthrough came in 2023 with "Lose Control," his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100, which later reached number one on that chart. The single anchored his debut studio album, "I've Tried Everything but Therapy (Part 1)" (2023), released via Warner Records, which charted internationally. A follow-up, "I've Tried Everything but Therapy (Part 2)," was released in early 2025.

Swims has toured extensively as both a headliner and a supporting act, appearing at numerous international festivals and, in 2024, being named MTV's "Push Artist of February." He received a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist and further honors across major award ceremonies. He performed at high-profile events including the 2025 NRL Grand Final and Coachella in 2026.
