2001 gründeten Gitarrist und Sänger Dan Auerbach und Schlagzeuger Patrick Carney in Akron, Ohio die "Black Keys". Dem Bluesrock verschrieben spielten sie sich über Jahre durch Clubs und Festivals, von Auftritt zu Auftritt und bewiesen ihre ungeheure musikalische Klasse, indem sie schon früh die Aufmerksamkeit der Kritiker erregten. 2010 zahlte sich all die harte Arbeit schließlich aus, ihr erstes kommerziell höchst erfolgreiches Album "Brothers" erschien und die beiden Ausnahmemusiker waren endgültig in der öffentlichen Wahrnehmung angekommen. 2012 veröffentlichten sie ihr mittlerweile siebentes Studio-Album "El Camino", das den Erfolg des Vorgängers noch einmal toppte und die beiden zu Rockstars machte.
