CSM București is the most titled women’s handball club in Romania in the last decade, and one of Europe’s constant powerhouses. Founded in 2007, the club was conceived as an elite project supported by the Bucharest City Hall, with the purpose of bringing the capital back to the forefront of European handball. Consistent investments, solid infrastructure and the recruitment of world-class players quickly transformed the team into a benchmark of performance in Romanian sports.
The peak moment came in 2016, when CSM București won the EHF Champions League just one year after its debut in the competition, following a dramatic final decided by 7-meter throws against Győr. Led at that time by Kim Rasmussen and featuring stars such as Isabelle Gulldén, Linnea Torstenson, Carmen Martin and Aurelia Brădeanu, the team became a symbol of professionalism and the courage to dream big. The following years brought constant Final Four appearances and multiple national titles, which reinforced its status as the “queen” of Romanian handball.
Today, CSM București continues to be a club with European ambitions and a strong fan base, aiming to return to the very top of Europe and to keep alive the flame of performance that has defined it since the beginning.
